IT WAS REPORTED THAT A NASOGASTRIC TUBE SPLIT INSIDE A PATIENT. IT WAS DISCOVERED WHEN THE PLACEMENT CHECK WAS CONDUCTED. IT WAS ASSUMED THAT 17 CM WAS LEFT IN THE PATIENT, WHICH WAS THEN CONFIRMED VIA X-RAY. AN ENDOSCOPY WAS CONSIDERED. HOWEVER, IT WAS DECIDED TO WAIT FOR THE PATIENT TO PASS IT NATURALLY. THERE WAS NO INJURY AT THIS TIME, BUT IT WAS NOTED THAT IT COULD CHANGE SINCE THE TUBE STILL REMAINS IN THE PATIENT'S BODY WAITING TO BE PASSED.
