ACCORDING TO THE REPORTER, DURING A PROCEDURE FOR THE LIVER, FIVE SUTURES WERE TAKEN OUT FROM A BOX WITH THE SAME LOT NUMBER. ONE SUTURE WAS OPENED AND THE SUTURE DETACHED FROM THE NEEDLE AS SOON AS THEY HELD THE PRODUCT. THE SAME THING WAS EXPERIENCED ON THE REMAINING FOUR SUTURES ON THE SAME PROCEDURE, FOR THE SAME PATIENT. IT WAS DECIDED NOT TO USE A SUTURE OF THAT SAME LOT NUMBER. ANOTHER DEVICE WAS USED TO COMPLETE THE CASE. THERE WAS NO PATIENT INJURY.
