ACCORDING TO THE REPORTER, DURING A PROCEDURE, THE DOCTOR WAS TRYING TO PUT THE GAUZE DOWN A TROCAR. THEY HAD TROUBLE, BECAUSE IT WAS TIGHT, SO THEY ABORTED AND PLACED THE GAUZE ON THE BACK TABLE. WHEN THEY SCANNED THE PATIENT AT THE END OF THE CASE THEY GOT A DETECTION. THE RF TAG WAS DISLODGED AND THEY FOUND THE CHIP ON THE SIDE OF THE OPERATING ROOM TABLE IN THE STERILE DRAPE. THEY REMOVED THE GAUZE FROM THE TROCAR AND THE SURGERY WAS COMPLETED WITH NO COMPLICATIONS. THERE WAS NO PATIENT INJURY.
