Reports come from manufacturers, hospitals and patients and are not verified by the FDA. A report does not prove the device caused the event. Widely used products collect more reports, so totals can't be used to compare products or estimate failure rates. Only reports that name a model's exact device identifier are counted. MAUDE report 50804631 ↗MalfunctionSep 17, 2026High impedance
It was reported that the patients output current was not being delivered, and lead impedance was >9,000 ohms, suggesting a possible lead discontinuity or hardware malfunction. Chest and neck X-rays were ordered to assess for lead damage or fracture. The patient reported recent attendance at a fair where ride restraints may have applied pressure over the implant site, potentially contributing to device- or lead-related trauma. Due to the diagnostic findings and concern for lead failure, surgical exploration with possible lead revision or replacement was scheduled. It was later noted that the x-rays were not available for review. The provider noted that the pin was fully inserted and that there was no visible lead break. No known relevant surgical intervention has occurred to date.No other relevant information has been received to date.
