Quick summary

This Olympus BF-XP160F bronchoscope is a thin flexible videoscope used to look inside the lungs and airways. Most of the 43 reports describe the scope going dark or showing no image at all, along with flickering, grainy, or poor-quality pictures, and problems found while cleaning and reprocessing. The reports include no deaths and 6 injuries, most involving procedures delayed or switched to another scope with no harm reported. One open recall, started in July 2023, concerns the scope's diameter letting it become lodged in an endotracheal tube connector.
