  • InjuryFeb 16, 2026Loosening of Implant Not Related to Bone-Ingrowth

AT ABOUT 2 MONTHS AFTER THE PRIMARY, THE PATIENT REPORTED PAIN ASSOCIATED WITH TIBIAL COMPONENT LOOSENING. RADIOGRAPHIC EVALUATION REVEALED A FRACTURE OF THE TIBIAL MEDIAL COMPARTMENT. PATIENT`S BONE QUALITY NORMAL. IT IS LIKELY THAT THE FRACTURE WORSENED DUE TO THE PATIENT WALKING ON THE ALREADY FRACTURED TIBIA WHILE MANAGING PAIN WITH MEDICATION. THE SURGEON CONVERTED THE PARTIAL KNEE ARTHROPLASTY TO A TOTAL KNEE ARTHROPLASTY, AND THE REVISION SURGERY WAS COMPLETED SUCCESSFULLY.

AT ABOUT 2 MONTHS AFTER PRIMARY, REVISION HAS BEEN PERFORMED DUE TO TIBIAL BONE FRACTURE, THE CAUSE IS UNKNOWN. IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO DEFINE IF THE FRACTURE MAY BE DUE TO TRAUMATIC EVENT OR TO THE PROGRESSIVE DESTABILIZATION OF BONE. • InjuryJun 22, 2022Adverse Event Without Identified Device or Use Problem

DURING THE PRIMARY KNEE SURGERY, AFTER THE MOTO FEMUR, INSERT AND TIBIA WERE IMPLANTED THE SURGEON PERFORMED A RANGE OF MOTION CONTROL AND AN EXCESSIVE TIBIAL BASEPLATE MOVEMENT, ALONG THE X-AXIS, WAS OBSERVED. DUE TO THIS, THE SURGEON DECIDED TO CONVERT THE UKA TO TKA, PROBABLY DUE TO THE FACT THAT HE MAY HAVE FELT THE TIBIAL PREPARATION LED TO THE TIBIA TOO MEDIAL AND STRUCTURALLY COMPROMISED AND UNABLE TO SUPPORT UKA. THIS DECISION, TO CONVERT TO TKA, EXTENDED THE CASE ROUGHLY 20-25 MINUTES.
