Quick summary

This Boston Scientific SENSATION short throw snare is a single-use polypectomy snare, a wire loop used to cut polyps during endoscopic procedures in the intestine. Reports mostly describe the loop failing to cut the polyp — the wire slipping off the tissue when tightened — plus difficulty positioning or retracting it. There are 59 reports, with no deaths and no injuries; most describe the procedure being finished with another snare and no patient complications. One open recall from January 2021 concerns an incomplete pouch seal noticed before use.
