Quick summary

This is a Medtronic MiniMed Enlite Plus 2 continuous glucose sensor used with an insulin pump that pauses insulin when glucose drops low. The 36 reports mostly describe the sensor giving readings far off from the fingerstick blood glucose value, which triggered a threshold suspend alarm and stopped insulin delivery even when blood sugar was high; some describe sensors with no electrode or a transmitter that would not blink. Three reports involve injuries, and there are no deaths. No recalls name this device.

Summary

The FDA's MAUDE database contains 36 adverse event reports that list this exact device (DI 00643169786738), received between Mar 22, 2018 and Sep 10, 2019 — classified as 3 injuries, 33 malfunctions.

The most frequently reported specific device problem is “Incorrect, Inadequate or Imprecise Result or Readings” (20 reports).

14 other recalls cover devices cleared under the same FDA submission (P120010, P150001, P150019, P150029); they may or may not involve this specific model.

Reports come from manufacturers, hospitals and patients and are not verified by the FDA. A report does not prove the device caused the event, and counts can't be used to compare devices or estimate failure rates.
