IT WAS REPORTED DURING THE FEMORAL OSTEOSYNTHESIS IN THE ORTHOPEDIC OPERATING ROOM, IT WAS FOUND THAT THERE WAS AN INABILITY TO SCREW THE ADDITIONAL GUIDE ONTO THE PLATE. BECAUSE OF THIS INCIDENT, THE SURGEON HAD THE CHOICE BETWEEN EXPOSING AND PLACING THE 18-HOLE PLATE, WHICH WAS THE REQUIRED SIZE (THERE WAS ONLY ONE PLATE OF THIS SIZE IN STOCK), OR PLACING A 16-HOLE PLATE (REFERENCE 021244175, BATCH 72626P5), WHICH WAS A LITTLE TOO SMALL. FOR THIS PATIENT, EXPOSURE WOULD HAVE CARRIED A RISK OF INFECTION. THE CHOICE TO PLACE THE 16-HOLE PLATE VIA A MINIMALLY INVASIVE APPROACH WAS MADE. TO DATE, THIS INCIDENT HAS HAD NO CLINICAL CONSEQUENCES FOR THE PATIENT.
