We found 4 models of Accent by St. Jude Medical, Inc. in the FDA's device registry (GUDID). Together they are named in 1,836 adverse event reports in the FDA's MAUDE database, received between Jun 11, 2018 and Sep 10, 2026 — classified as 113 deaths, 652 injuries, 1,071 malfunctions.
The most frequently reported specific device problem is “Pacemaker Found in Back-Up Mode” (285 reports).
Reports come from manufacturers, hospitals and patients and are not verified by the FDA. A report does not prove the device caused the event. Widely used products collect more reports, so totals can't be used to compare products or estimate failure rates. Only reports that name a model's exact device identifier are counted. InjurySep 10, 2026Low impedance
It was reported that the patient presented to the clinic for follow-up. Low pacing impedance measurements were observed while the pacemaker (PM) was at the normal elective replacement indicator (ERI) stage. Consequently, the PM was explanted and replaced with a new PM on (b)(6)2026. The existing atrial and right ventricle (RV) leads were retained and successfully reconnected to the newly implanted PM. Subsequent Pacing System Analyzer (PSA) testing and lead impedance measurements performed after reconnection to the replacement PM were within normal limits, indicating acceptable lead impedance measurements with both the explanted and replacement PMs. The patient was stable throughout.
