1 FDA recall record name at least one of these models by its device identifier, 1 still open.
Reports come from manufacturers, hospitals and patients and are not verified by the FDA. A report does not prove the device caused the event. Widely used products collect more reports, so totals can't be used to compare products or estimate failure rates. Only reports that name a model's exact device identifier are counted. InjuryAug 26, 2026Device Dislodged or Dislocated
It was reported that the patient underwent a hip revision approximately 1-year post-implantation due to joint dislocation. Initially, the surgeon attempted to reduce the dislocation; however, an intraprosthetic dislocation occurred. Subsequently, the liner and DM bearing were revised. No additional information available for the reported event.

MAUDE report 50460045 ↗InjuryAug 4, 2026Detachment of Device or Device Component; Noise, Audible
It was reported that the patient required an acetabular revision approximately two months post-implantation due to dissociation of the dual-mobility components, specifically the ceramic head and polyethylene liner. The patient reported an internal rotation movement of the limb while rising from an armchair. This resulted in a dislocation of the prosthesis, which was reduced in the Emergency Department. In reality, dissociation of the dual-mobility (DM) component was already present but went unnoticed in the ED; consequently, the patient consulted a doctor due to pain and audible noise from the prosthesis.Follow-up X-rays and CT scans revealed that the DM cup was displacedThis necessitated a revision procedure for the component.Attempts have been made and no further information has been provided.

THE PATIENT SUFFERED TWO PREVIOUS DISLOCATIONS AND THE LATEST OCCURRED WHEN THEY WERE LYING IN BED AND TURNED ONTO THEIR HIP. THE HIP WAS REDUCED UNDER GENERAL ANESTHESIA WITHOUT DIFFICULTY. FOLLOWING THE PROCEDURE, WHEN PERFORMING TRACTIONS, THERE WAS SOME SUBLUXATION SO THE HIP WAS IMMOBILIZED TO NOT FLEX THE HIP. THE FOLLOWING DAY, IT WAS RE-EVALUATED AND THE THIGH WAS LIFTED WITHOUT PROBLEM OR PAIN. ATTEMPTS HAVE BEEN MADE AND NO FURTHER INFORMATION HAS BEEN PROVIDED.

THE SURGEON REMOVED THE LINER TO CONFIRM THE SCREWS WERE FLUSH AND NOT PREVENTING THE LINER FROM BEING FULLY SEATED. THE SCREW WAS REMOVED AND NOT REINSERTED AS CUP WAS WELL FIXATED. A NEW LINER WAS USED, AND IT MATED WITH THE CUP SUCCESSFULLY. THE SURGEON FELT THE LINER WAS BENT DURING REMOVAL AND THERE APPEARED TO BE NO DAMAGE TO THE SCREW. ATTEMPTS HAVE BEEN MADE AND NO FURTHER INFORMATION HAS BEEN PROVIDED.
