MAUDE report 50374490 ↗InjuryAug 21, 2026High impedance
It was reported that this pacemaker exhibited high out of range pace impedance measurements. Technical Services (TS) was consulted and recommended evaluating the threshold with a programmer and to look for possible connection issues. An engineering analysis was conducted, and TS confirmed the out of range measurements, furthering discussing with the local field representative and further recommended turning off Trend mode. The device was used as a temporary pacing device and was subsequently explanted. A new pacemaker was successfully implanted. No additional adverse patient effects were reported. This pacemaker is no longer in service.

MAUDE report 25404354 ↗DeathJun 1, 2026Pacing Problem; Insufficient Device Problem Information
It was reported the pacemaker patient passed away on (b)(6) 2026. The patient's daughter stated that the pacemaker "failed to work". Technical Services discussed that if the patient had damage to the myocardium the ability to pace may have been compromised. In addition, if the patient had a fast arrhythmic event the pacemaker doesn't treat that. The patient was cremated, and it is unknown if the pacemaker will be returned. The daughter stated that she would reach out to the doctor's office. It was additionally reported that that the patient had been on dialysis at the time of death. The pacemaker had been set with a lower rate limit of 40 beats/minute; however, monitors had been displaying 30 beats/minute which was possibly misinterpreted. Despite good faith effort, no further details were obtained regarding the event.

IT WAS REPORTED THAT THIS PACEMAKER RECORDED A CODE 1003, INDICATING THE VOLTAGE IS TOO LOW FOR THE PROJECTED REMAINING CAPACITY. A REQUEST WAS MADE TO HAVE DATA FROM THIS DEVICE ANALYZED. DATA ANALYSIS IDENTIFIED POTENTIAL HIGH IMPEDANCE WITHIN THE BATTERY. TECHNICAL SERVICES (TS) RECOMMENDED TO EITHER SCHEDULE A REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE WITHIN 28 DAYS OR CONTINUE MONITORING UNTIL RADIO FREQUENCY (RF) TELEMETRY IS DISABLED, AFTER WHICH, DEVICE REPLACEMENT IS ADVISED. THIS DEVICE REMAINS IN SERVICE. NO ADVERSE PATIENT EFFECTS WERE REPORTED.
