MalfunctionMar 24, 2025Material Rupture; Material Rupture
IT WAS REPORTED THAT BALLOON RUPTURE OCCURRED. THE 99% STENOSED TARGET LESION WAS LOCATED IN THE MILDLY TORTUOUS AND MODERATELY CALCIFIED SUPERFICIAL FEMORAL ARTERY. A 5.0X200X150-HYBRID STERLING BALLOON CATHETER WAS ADVANCED FOR DILATION. DURING FIRST INFLATION AT 13 ATMOSPHERES FOR 10 SECONDS, THE BALLOON BURST WITHOUT REACHING THE BURST RATED PRESSURE. THE DEVICE WAS REMOVED OVER THE WIRE AND THE PROCEDURE WAS COMPLETED WITH ANOTHER OF THE SAME DEVICE. THERE WERE NO PATIENT COMPLICATIONS AS A RESULT OF THIS EVENT.
Patient problems: No Clinical Signs, Symptoms or Conditions
