IT WAS REPORTED THAT BALLOON RUPTURE OCCURRED. THE TOTALLY STENOSED TARGET LESION WAS LOCATED IN THE MILDLY TORTUOUS AND MILDLY CALCIFIED SUPERFICIAL FEMORAL ARTERY. A 6.0X120X150 STERLING BALLOON CATHETER WAS ADVANCED FOR DILATION. DURING INFLATION, THE BALLOON BURST BEFORE REACHING THE NORMAL BURST PRESSURE. THE PROCEDURE WAS COMPLETED WITH ANOTHER OF THE SAME DEVICE. NO COMPLICATIONS WERE REPORTED, AND THE PATIENT WAS STABLE POST PROCEDURE.
Patient problems: No Clinical Signs, Symptoms or Conditions

IT WAS REPORTED THAT BALLOON RUPTURE OCCURRED. THE 100% STENOSED TARGET LESION WAS LOCATED IN THE SEVERELY CALCIFIED SUPERFICIAL FEMORAL ARTERY. A 6.0X120X150 STERLING BALLOON CATHETER WAS ADVANCED FOR DILATION. DURING THE PROCEDURE, THE BALLOON BREAK BLOOD FLOWS AND WOULD NOT HOLD BLOOD BACK INTO INFLATION DEVICE AT 8 ATMOSPHERES. THE PROCEDURE WAS COMPLETED WITH A NON-BSC DEVICE. NO PATIENT COMPLICATIONS WERE REPORTED.
Patient problems: No Clinical Signs, Symptoms or Conditions
MAUDE report 19967277 ↗MalfunctionOct 19, 2023Material Rupture; Material Rupture
IT WAS REPORTED THAT BALLOON RUPTURE OCCURRED. THE 87% STENOSED TARGET LESION WAS LOCATED IN THE MILDLY TORTUOUS AND SEVERELY CALCIFIED SUPERFICIAL FEMORAL ARTERY. A 6.0X120X150-HYBRID STERLING BALLOON CATHETER WAS ADVANCED FOR DILATATION. HOWEVER, DURING THE FIRST INFLATION AT 8 ATMOSPHERES FOR 10 SECONDS, THE BALLOON RUPTURED. THE DEVICE WAS REMOVED, AND THE PROCEDURE WAS COMPLETED WITH ANOTHER OF SAME DEVICE. THERE WERE NO PATIENT COMPLICATIONS REPORTED.
Patient problems: No Clinical Signs, Symptoms or Conditions
MAUDE report 17965305 ↗MalfunctionOct 3, 2023Material Rupture; Material Rupture
IT WAS REPORTED THAT BALLOON RUPTURE OCCURRED. THE 80% STENOSED TARGET LESION WAS LOCATED IN THE MILDLY TORTUOUS AND SEVERELY CALCIFIED POPLITEAL ARTERY. A 6.0X120X150-HYBRID STERLING BALLOON CATHETER WAS ADVANCED FOR DILATATION. HOWEVER, DURING THE FIRST INFLATION AT 8 ATMOSPHERES FOR A FEW SECONDS, THE BALLOON RUPTURED. THE DEVICE WAS SUCCESSFULLY REMOVED AND THE PROCEDURE WAS COMPLETED WITH ANOTHER OF THE SAME DEVICE. NO PATIENT COMPLICATIONS WERE REPORTED.
Patient problems: No Clinical Signs, Symptoms or Conditions

IT WAS REPORTED THAT BALLOON RUPTURE OCCURRED. THE TARGET LESION WAS LOCATED IN THE SUPERFICIAL FEMORAL ARTERY. A 6.0X120X150 STERLING BALLOON CATHETER WAS ADVANCED FOR DILATATION. HOWEVER, DURING INFLATION, THE BALLOON RUPTURED BEFORE REACHING NORMAL ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE. THE DEVICE WAS REMOVED AND THE PROCEDURE WAS COMPLETED WITH A DIFFERENT DEVICE. THERE WERE NO PATIENT COMPLICATIONS REPORTED AND THE PATIENT STATUS WAS STABLE.

MAUDE report 12457509 ↗InjuryFeb 22, 2021Adverse Event Without Identified Device or Use Problem; Adverse Event Without Identified Device or Use Problem
IT WAS REPORTED THAT A DISSECTION OCCURRED. A 6MM X 120MM X 150CM STERLING BALLOON WAS SELECTED FOR USE IN AN ANGIOPLASTY AND STENTING PROCEDURE. THE PATIENT PRESENTED WITH STENOSIS IN THE SUPERFICIAL FEMORAL ARTERY (SFA). DURING THE PROCEDURE, A DISSECTION OCCURRED. THE DISSECTION MOST LIKELY OCCURRED POST ANGIOPLASTY. ONE ELUVIA STENT WAS IMPLANTED TO TREAT THE DISSECTION. TWO ADDITIONAL ELUVIA STENTS WERE IMPLANTED IN DIFFERENT AREAS OF THE SFA TO TREAT THE STENOSIS. THE PROCEDURE WAS COMPLETED, AND THE PATIENT WAS EXPECTED TO FULLY RECOVER.
