  ACCORDING TO THE REPORTER, DURING OPEN CARDIAC SURGERY, THE NEEDLE BROKE AND FELL INTO THE HEART INCISION WHILE SUTURING THE LEFT ATRIUM INCISION USING A CONTINUOUS SUTURING TECHNIQUE. AN X-RAY WAS PERFORMED TO LOCATE THE NEEDLE. SURGICAL TIME WAS EXTENDED 30 MINUTES OR MORE.
