ACCORDING TO THE REPORTER, DURING THE LIVER MASS BIOPSY, THE UNIT'S HAND PIECES WOULD NOT FIRE PROPERLY - IT WAS VERY WEAK AND NEVER ARCED PROPERLY. HAD IT TURNED ALL THE WAY UP AND BOTH TANKS WERE FULL. HAD TO OPEN THE PATIENT (CONVERTED TO LAPAROTOMY) TO CONTROL BLEEDING. THREE (3) LAPAROSCOPIC TIPS AND TWO (2) HAND PIECES WERE OPENED ¿ COULD NOT GET ANY OF THEM TO WORK PROPERLY. ANOTHER GENERATOR WAS USED WITH A REGULAR HAND PENCIL CAUTERY BECAUSE HAD TO OPEN THE PATIENT. USED CAUTERY AND ENDO TIES TO COMPLETE THE SURGERY. THERE WAS A 6000 ML OF BLEEDING AND HAD TO TRANSFUSE PLASMA X5, PLATELETS X 2, RBC X 15. PATIENT WAS DISCHARGED.
